Random poems I write when I am bored...which happens often.

Vampire's Curse

Life as an immortal isn't worth living
never ending fight to survive
lives taken so one may live....
FOREVER!!!

Heart that once beat in love's rapid pace
forced to stop in an untimely manner
never to feel again....
NUMB!!!!

Monsterous feeling-destroying others
living a life existing centuries ago
eternal dependence of the elixer of life....
BLOOD!!!

Perpentual night
trying to live in the sun
enable to escape
DARKNESS!!

One that could make a heart skip if it still beat
hair black as night, eyes blue as sky
cannot resist the urge
BITE!!!

Forsaken now and always
undying need for internal peace
for now he too carries this
CURSE!!!

I love you too!!

Held under for too long
Drowning in your love
Chained in your grasp
Your love is my disease
Clawing at the soul
Afraid of losing control
I love you too!!

Demon Within

One of darkness; one of light
but in a single form
a man; a demon
weakness shared
the girl; the one with the anglic face
a curse; forever doomed to be one
the perfect balance obtained within
half a man for the girl.

Reflections

Rippling pools of
Enchanted waters show the
Face of a
Lovely girl.
Eternal beauty glistening
Charmingly her eyes do gleam but deep within lies
Terrible darkness and greed.
Infinitely this girl will suffer for her
Overly egotistical illusions
Never will a man love her for
She shuns the light from her mind

In the subtle darkness...

In the subtle darkness
of the mind a solemn vow is made.
To be rid of all the melancholy
nonsense that has made itself home.
As well as the cynical thoughts that appear
out of the abyss like a desert oasis.
Though the consequence for ignoring premonition is great
pressing on in order to create a different destiny
is the only to stop being such a nuisance on the world
and escape from solitude.

Let’s go now before the love is gone

When is life the question,
how do we find the answer?
When hatred consumes,
how do we escape the flames?
Imagine a world where obsession is on repeat,
and shame is to blame for the darkness..
We’ll go the edge of life and replenish our demonic minds.
I have with me the key to joy with an image of paradise
Let’s go now before the love is gone.

How Do You Measure a Life?

HOW DO YOU MEASURE A LIFE?
Through the darkness of your mind,
the crimes you've commited or,
the number of times you've made someone cry.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE A LIFE?
When life is so short,
dreams become nothing but distant thoughts,
and the memories disappear.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE A LIFE?
When the beliefs you shared became unimportant,
your own body is against you, and the world
doesn't accept who you are.

Don't measure a life in unachieved dreams,
unimportant thoughts,and failures. Measure in
the glad times, the smiles, the laughter,.....
IN LOVE!

Insanity

In my Secret Dollhouse
I hold a Neverland.
It is my Kaleidoscope
of untold Sin.
Though I try to escape
the maddness within
I find sanity has Vanished
I'm abandoned yet again

We Are The Ones

We are the ones, who continue to fight when world decides to fail.
We are the ones, who try without ever giving up hope.
We are the ones, who decide when the war is finished and there will be peace.
We are the ones, who share what little we have with those who are in need.
We are the ones, who payforward the help we recieve in life.
We are the ones, who never want to hurt.
We are the ones, who beleive this world can be and do great things.
We are the ones, that refuse to give up who we are for others.
WE ARE THE ONES!

Urges

"Feel their breath upon your neck
It smells of blood, it smells of death
You wince before the their teeth pierce your awaiting flesh
You keep your eyes closed, just waiting for the pain"
Your body is numb with cold
Your heart is rapidly beating
Then nothing
You awake from a trance like state
Realizing your no longer yourself
You cry...then a craving lurches from inside
Blood the necture of life the one thing you can produce no longer
You gorge in the glistening red liquid of life
Then you notice that dawn is about to break so
You quickly cover the windows and lock your door
Then you rest in the darkness.
This is your curse
You'll live in darkness
sleep in darkness
breath only darkness
And everynight be awakened
with an urge to feed

Why

Why do we let our true feelings hide
so we may find what we seek
Blinded and numb to the ignorence
in order to get what we desire
When all we really want is with us all a long
unknown of its existance until its gone

Comfortably Numb

I've become comfortably numb, unusual as it seems
everything around me are just infamous dreams.
Everything near me, everthing i see,
crumbles and breaks right in front of me.
Damned to never feel
except for pain that is very real.
Pain, which was brought upon by you,
should've known you would never be true.
Love once felt, now long to feel again,
unsure if ever to feel again.

Murder

Wings on the shadow have come
A scream; no one hears
Creeping blade feels cold to the touch
Left isolated and alone to die

~Shady~

Shady figure
~lurking~
In search of
~innocence~
a devious plan
~Murder~
Stealing a soul
~in hopes~
of saving his

Over and Over~Over and Over~

Hear the lies
~Over and Over~
Hear your cries
~Over and Over~
Loving anyone but you
~Over and Over~
Regret ever loving you

  1. Jessica, I really liked the theme of the poem How Do You Measure a Life? because the question you bring up is very philosophical.
I noticed that you like to emphasize certain lines of your poems by using caps lock which is great because it highlights their importance. The repetition of the question makes the reader think more and more carefully about the possible answers. In the last stanza, I like that in stead of the question you highlight: “IN LOVE!” The fascinating about the poem is that even without reading it all you can find out the answer to the question in the title by simply looking at the stressed lines. I also liked that at the end of the poem you drastically change the tone and have a positive ending.
I think you should work on the third stanza because the things you talk about are not well connected. I think that you should substitute “the beliefs you shared became unimportant” with something else that will be more precisely related to the other part: “…your own body is against you, and the world doesn't accept who you are.”
I liked all of your poems but my favorite are those connected to vampires.

  2. Thank you for your comments I will ponder your suggestion for "How do you measure a life" I did't really notice that for the most part the stanza's had a common theme.

***My most favorite poems I've written are Vampire's Curse and Urges. I will always have a special place in my heart for vampires.
